About Cody Blue Pilkington
Cody Blue Pilkington was a learner from a young age. At age 3, his grandmother began teaching him how to play Scrabble and other games — the thought processes and the steps. He absorbed the data and loved the facts.
His mother describes him as talented and gifted, compassionate and a little nerdy. Education was extremely important to Pilkington, and he graduated from the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics in Durham. He was a Boy Scout and a junior volunteer firefighter at the Grifton Volunteer Fire Department. He was also a member of First Christian Church of Grifton.
As a college sophomore at N.C. State University, he was a member of the Sigma Alpha Mu fraternity and was working toward his degree in mechanical engineering when he was tragically killed in a fire.
