Application Materials (submit via the online form as PDFs)
1. Essay (max 500 words) — Why do you want to study architecture? You may address topics such as a favorite New York City building, a formative experience that sparked your interest, how you hope to influence your community as an architect, or ways you would consider environmental impact in your work.
2. Portfolio — Applicants are encouraged (when applicable) to submit the same portfolio used for their college application. Include at least 3–4 original pieces of visual art, design, or architecture; additional works are permitted. Projects may be 2-D or 3-D and can be completed or in progress. If submitting group work, clearly state your role.
3. High School Transcript — Provide your most recent transcript. The final graduation transcript will be required to accept the award.

One letter must come from a high school teacher; the other may be from an employer, an architecture professional, or another adult. Applicants may submit recommendation letters previously used for their college application.
