Pulver Scholarships

Overview
The Glens Falls Foundation, through a bequest from Harry Brereton Pulver, funds undergraduate scholarships for students from Warren, Washington, or Saratoga Counties, New York, who attend Dartmouth College or Harvard College. Awards are available for up to four years of undergraduate study. Applications are available from the Foundation’s website: glensfallsfoundation.org.

Eligibility
- Must be a resident of Warren, Washington, or Saratoga County (NY).
- Must be enrolled at or planning to attend Dartmouth College or Harvard College as an undergraduate.
- Must demonstrate good moral character, satisfactory academic standing, and financial need.

Award information
- Each recipient will receive at least $2,000 per year for up to four years.
- The yearly amount may exceed $2,000 depending on the income of the Pulver Scholarship Fund and how many eligible applicants apply in a given year.
- Scholarship payments are issued directly to the student in July.

Continued eligibility (for multi-year recipients)
To renew the scholarship for subsequent years, recipients must provide:
- A letter from the Dean confirming successful completion of the current academic year; and
- An official transcript sent in a sealed envelope directly from the college.

Application requirements
(If completing a paper form, please type or print clearly in black ink.)
Please include the following with your application:
- A copy of your financial aid award letter from Dartmouth or Harvard, if one was issued. If you did not receive such a letter, explain your financial situation in the essay.
- A high school transcript showing grades through the first semester of the senior year (for incoming freshmen).
- Documentation verifying that you will be or are attending Dartmouth or Harvard.
- A complete list of extracurricular activities and volunteer service.
- A minimum of two letters of recommendation.
- An essay describing how the Pulver Scholarship would help you attain your undergraduate objectives; use this essay to share any additional information you want the selection committee to consider beyond what is provided elsewhere in the application.
