Introduction Pretty Lightroom Presets values higher education and the impact it has on personal and professional growth. To support students pursuing college and university studies, we continue to offer the annual Pretty Presets for Lightroom Scholarship: a $500 award given each year to help a student advance their education. Award amount, deadline, and announcement - The scholarship award is $500 USD and is granted once per year. - Entries must be received by April 15 (annually). - The winning submission will be featured on the Pretty Presets Blog. - A panel of judges from LightroomPresets.com will evaluate entries. - The winner will be notified by email approximately three weeks after the April 15 deadline. - The $500 prize will be issued as a co-payable check sent to the college or university attended by the winning student (mailed to the school’s financial aid office). Who may apply Eligible applicants must meet one of the following at the time of entry: - Be a senior in high school; or - Be transitioning from high school to a college or university; or - Be currently enrolled at a college or university in the United States or Canada. Employees of Pretty Lightroom Presets and Actions, and their immediate family members, are not eligible. What to submit — tutorial essay requirements - Prepare an essay-style tutorial about Adobe Lightroom (desktop) or Lightroom Mobile that is at least 800 words long. Your submission must include original screenshots and photos that you created and use to demonstrate your points. - Acceptable topic choices (pick one): 1. Any how-to tutorial for Lightroom or Lightroom Mobile. 2. Any original photography-related tutorial. 3. An essay on how Lightroom has changed photography. - We prefer topics not already covered on our blog — checking existing posts may help you choose a unique angle. - Use correct grammar and punctuation. How to submit - Email your entry as a Microsoft Word document (.doc/.docx) or plain text to scholarship@lightroompresets.com. - Include your full name, phone number, email address, and mailing address. This contact information will be kept confidential and will not be shared; you may review our privacy policy online. - Provide the name of the college or university you attend (or will attend) and the mailing address for that school’s financial aid office — this is where the scholarship check will be sent if you win. - Attach a headshot of yourself in .JPG or .PNG format that is at least 300 pixels wide. - Make sure all requested information and attachments are included; incomplete submissions may be disqualified. Judging and payment - Entries are reviewed by a team of judges at LightroomPresets.com. - The selected winner will be posted on the Pretty Presets Blog and notified by email about three weeks after the April 15 deadline. - Payment is made as a $500 USD co-payable check mailed to the financial aid office of the winner’s college or university.
