Introduction
The Martha Washington Garden Club of Yardley, PA is awarding scholarships in memory of club member Jane Parr. These awards are intended for qualified high school or college students who plan to pursue careers in horticulture or closely related disciplines, including but not limited to landscape architecture, forestry, conservation, environmental studies, turf management, conservation and wildlife management, marine biology, and floriculture.
Eligibility and award details
- Open to qualified high school seniors or current college students.
- Applicants must reside in the tri-state area of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, or Delaware.
- Scholarship amounts are set annually and will be announced each year.
- Awards will be presented in June.
- Recipients must be enrolled in, or planning to attend, an accredited college to continue studies in one of the fields listed above.
Application requirements
To be considered, applicants must submit the following:
- Completed application form (see the attached file).
- An essay explaining your interest in the chosen field.
- A resumé or a list of extracurricular activities and involvement.
- A copy of your transcript (high school or college).
- A letter of college acceptance once it is available.
- Four references total: two academic references and two character references.
