CMT Cattlemen Scholarship — Agriculture

Overview
The CMT Cattlemen are offering a scholarship for students pursuing studies in Agriculture. Well-educated graduates are essential to the agricultural sector, and this award is intended to support students who plan careers that serve our local farming community. If you intend to enroll in an accredited college, university, or trade school in the fall of 2026 and will major in agriculture or an agriculture-related program, you are encouraged to apply. Applicants must live in Columbiana, Mahoning, or Trumbull County. An exception applies for descendants of CMT leadership: children and grandchildren of past or present CMT Cattlemen directors will be eligible regardless of their stated course of study. All other applicants must demonstrate plans to pursue agricultural studies or an Ag-related major.

Award timing
Scholarships are granted each spring to help cover costs for the upcoming academic year. Recipients will be selected in May and will receive the award after providing proof of enrollment.

Terms
- Awards are intended for full-time students who are pursuing an undergraduate credential at a 2- or 4-year accredited college, university, or trade school recognized by the Cattlemen.
- The scholarship offsets educational expenses for the following school year.

Eligibility
- Must be a resident of Columbiana, Mahoning, or Trumbull County.
- Applicants should be graduating high school seniors planning to begin postsecondary study in fall 2026.
- Children and grandchildren of past or present CMT Cattlemen directors will be considered regardless of their intended field of study.
- All other applicants must be enrolling in agriculture or an agriculture-related program.
- Students may reapply in subsequent years if they continue undergraduate study and maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 after their first year.

Application requirements
- Complete the attached application and submit it to the Scholarship Committee by the stated deadline.
- Include a current official transcript; the transcript must bear the signature of an authorized school representative.
- Applicants will be notified of awards either in writing, in person by a member of the CMT Board of Directors, or during the school’s awards assembly.

Selection process
Scholarship recipients are chosen at the discretion of the CMT Cattlemen Board of Directors. Selection criteria include academic performance, demonstrated financial need, extracurricular involvement, and other pertinent considerations.

We encourage eligible students to apply and take advantage of this opportunity to continue their education in agriculture.
