Overview
The New York State Horse Council (NYSHC) offers two annual $1,000 awards. One is a Youth Scholarship for members who are 16–24 years old during the award year. The other is an Adult Educational Grant for members aged 25 and older. Both awards support NYSHC members who are enrolled in a college-level equine program or pursuing professional certification (for example: Parelli, John Lyons, farrier certification, etc.).
Who may apply
Applicants must hold NYSHC membership as an individual, family, or student member.
Selection process and notification
Applications are reviewed by the NYSHC Scholarship Committee. Award recipients for each category will be notified by June 1 of the award year.
