About the scholarship
The Modern Mountain “Rise Up” Baking Scholarship helps students who plan to pursue a professional career in Baking and Pastry Arts. Designed to support and connect emerging bakers, this award provides financial help and a straightforward application to make your entry into a baking program a little easier. We’re excited to offer a little “dough” to help you begin your first year on the right foot.
Who should apply
This scholarship is intended for first-year undergraduate students beginning a Baking & Pastry Arts program and who meet the following criteria:
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
- Accepted to, or enrolled in, a Baking & Pastry Arts program at a U.S.-accredited post-secondary institution, college, or university. Applicants may submit their scholarship application while still awaiting admission decisions, but must supply proof of acceptance by the scholarship application deadline to be eligible for award consideration.
- U.S. citizen.

Application requirements
To be considered, submit all of the following:
1. Short essay responses:
- What does baking mean to you? (Recommended length: 300–500 words.) Include your long-term goals or aspirations that have motivated you to pursue a career in baking and pastry arts.
- What is your best baking tip or trick?
2. A current, official transcript demonstrating a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
3. Proof of enrollment in (or acceptance to) a Baking & Pastry Arts program at an accredited U.S. post-secondary institution for the 2026/2027 school year. (If you apply while awaiting decisions, provide acceptance documentation by the application deadline.)
