Vanderburgh County Fair Scholarships

Introduction
The Vanderburgh County Fair Association seeks to support and recognize young people from our Fair community who are pursuing their fullest potential. We invite these youth to collaborate with Association members as we work to deliver an outstanding Fair and carry out our mission of Education, Entertainment, and Exhibition.
Eligibility and Award Details
- The Scholarship Committee will award a minimum of one $500 scholarship to an incoming college freshman and a minimum of one $500 scholarship to a full-time college student in their 2nd through 4th year of post-secondary study. The total number of scholarships and the amounts available may vary based on donations received for the Vanderburgh County Fair Scholarship Fund.
- Applicants must demonstrate active involvement in the Vanderburgh County Fair.
- A student may receive a scholarship once per category (i.e., once as an incoming freshman and once as a student in years 2–4). Exception: for the 2nd–4th year category, a recipient may receive the award more than once only if there are no other applicants in that category.
Timeline
- Application deadline: June 30.
- Interviews: scheduled in early to mid-July.
- Scholarship recipients must attend the Vanderburgh County Fair Opening Ceremony, where awards will be announced publicly.
How to Apply
- Complete the scholarship application and submit the required essay.
- Include either an official letter of acceptance from the college/university you will attend or a copy of your upcoming semester’s class schedule.
Selection and Interview
- The Scholarship Committee will review all submissions and invite selected candidates to an interview.
- The in-person (or scheduled) interview is the final step in the selection process and will be used to determine award recipients.
Award Presentation and Payment
- Scholarship checks will be made payable only to the individual recipient and will be presented publicly during the Opening Ceremony announcement.
