Wightman Scholarships

Wightman Scholarship Program - The program offers two scholarships, each worth up to $2,000. These are the John & Jan Wightman Scholarship and the Byron & Bessie Wightman Memorial Scholarship. To be considered eligible, applicants must be in their sophomore or junior year of college and have successfully completed a minimum of 30 college hours. They must also have maintained a GPA of 3.2 or above at any accredited four-year college, whether it's located in Nebraska or elsewhere. Preference will be given to applicants who meet one or more of the following criteria: (1) They have shown a keen interest in teaching in Lexington's dual-language elementary program; (2) They are interested in pursuing a career in public service and have a proven track record of volunteer work; or (3) They were recipients of a freshman Foundation Scholarship.
