The Massachusetts Flower Growers’ Association offers a scholarship program worth up to $6,000 (total), awarded based on the length of a student’s approved course of study. Apply online.
Eligibility
- Must be enrolled in a major in floriculture, horticulture, or a closely related agricultural science.
- Must have been a resident of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for at least one year prior to the date the application is submitted.
Award details
- The scholarship pays $1,500 per year, disbursed annually upon receipt of official transcripts, for up to four years (maximum award $6,000).
- Awards are prorated by the number of years/semesters completed: 1 year (two semesters) = $1,500; 2 years = $3,000; 3 years = $4,500; 4 years = $6,000.
- The first payment is issued after the student completes the first semester (generally in January). The recipient must send a copy of the first-semester transcript to the Massachusetts Flower Growers’ Association Scholarship Committee to trigger this payment.
- Subsequent annual payments will be made on the same schedule each year upon receipt of the required transcripts, until the student’s scholarship term is fulfilled or the maximum award is reached.
Termination of award
The scholarship may be terminated and future payments withheld if any of the following occur:
- The recipient fails to complete the required semesters.
- The recipient discontinues a course of study in floriculture, horticulture, or a related agricultural science as determined by the Scholarship Committee.
- The recipient’s cumulative grade point average falls below 2.5.
